ASEAN-Korea Tourism Capacity Building in Vietnam 2017-09-13 ~ 2017-09-16 |Vietnam ? Hoi An

● Program Title: ASEAN-Korea Tourism Capacity Building in Vietnam

● Date: 13-16 September

● Venue: Vietnam – Hoi An

● Theme: Attracting FITs to Hoi An as a Cultural Heritage Destination

● Objectives:

- To increase competitiveness of the tourism industry in Vietnam by strengthening the capacity of local tourism professionals in Hoi An, so that they may effectively promote Hoi An as a representative cultural heritage destination, and provide tailored services to Korean tourists

- To offer tourism products that are distinctive, authentic, and satisfactory to Korean tourists

- To bolster tourism exchange between ASEAN and Korea by providing lectures on Korea-Vietnam tourism trends, marketing strategies, and culture; and offer networking opportunities

● (Expected number of) Participants: 100~120 tourism professionals from both private and public sectors

● Main Activities:

- One-Day Workshop: The Workshop is composed of lectures by 1) Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc, Vice-Director, Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation; 2) Dr. Han Suk-young, Associate Professor, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Sejong Cyber University; 3) Ms. Chun Na-rae, Assistant Manager, Vietnam Team at the Southeast Asia Marketing Division, Hanatour Service Inc.; and 4) Mr. Baek Seung-woo Area Director of Finance, Hyatt International Corporation. Lectures will be followed by Panel Discussion and Q&A Session, to share knowledge and answer questions among the participants and lectures.

- Pre- & Post Programs:

i. On-site Consultation: AKC and speakers visit the representative cultural heritage tourism destinations (My Son Sanctuary and the Ancient Town) in Hoi An, analyzing potentials, strengths, and areas for improvement of the site and activities.

ii. Roundtable Discussion: Prior to the workshop, ideas will be shared among Korean speakers and policy-makers from both public and private sector in Hoi An.

iii. Networking Reception: After the Workshop, speakers and participants will share their thoughts and opinions and build business networks with tourism professional from various backgrounds
