● Title: ASEAN Art Exhibition

● Date: 25 July ~ 20 August 2017

● Venue: Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Seoul

● Objectives:

- Provide a platform for 30 young ASEAN artists to showcase their artwork for sale at the Asia Student and Young Artists Art Festival (ASYAAF)

- Facilitate cultural exchange between young ASEAN and Korean artists by inviting one artist each from ten ASEAN Member States to Seoul and conducting the ASEAN-Korea Art Forum with Korean artists

- Offer a great chance for the Korean public to witness the potential of young artists from ASEAN and buy quality artworks

- Increase public awareness on the arts of ASEAN as this year celebrates the ASEAN-ROK Cultural Exchange Year and the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN

● (Expected number of) Participants:

- Exhibition visitors: around 20,000

- Opening Ceremony Invitees: 30 persons including 10 Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States, 12 Culture and Tourism Working Group Members, etc

● Activities:

- Hold Opening of the ASEAN Art Exhibition at 11:30~12:00, Tuesday, 25 July (ASYAAF Opening Ceremony at 11:00~11:30)

- Conduct “Conversation with Artists” where invited artists promote their artworks and interact with the public

- Organize the ASEAN-Korea Art Forum moderated by Professor Chung Hyung-min of Seoul National University (SNU), consisting of a presentation by Mr. Suh Jin-suk, Director of the Nam June Park Art Centre, as well as country presentations by 10 ASEAN artists and roundtable discussion with the Korean artists

- Visit SNU, College of Fine Arts for networking session with SNU students

- Tour of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and other nearby galleries
